Kolin Lotus Cottages ligger i nærheden af søen Pielinen, 1,5 km fra byen Koli. Disse parhuse med egen forplejning har legeplads og grillfaciliteter. It was much cosier than in the pictures and was spotlessly clean. This small resort functioned like a well oiled machine and the caretaker was on hand offering assistance/ taking conscientious care of ploughing the snow to aid our exit and entry to the property. It was very very cold when we visited and the snow was mounding up continuously, but there was firewood on tap and the sauna was wonderful. and the view/ position amongst the trees was just idyllic. The cabins are in the perfect location for visiting Koli national park; witnessing the crown snow load alone was worth the drive from Helsinki. For anyone doing the same be aware that driving in the snow can increase the predicted driving time by 1/3!

In addition to everything you may need in your daily life, the apartment had some extra features such as the motorized bed function and the capsule coffee machine which I loved. Communication with the host was also smooth. And the location of the apartment is awesome. It doesn't even take 2 mins to reach the city center square. Overall it was a great experience!

A word about breakfast: there were enough things in the room for a nice breakfast (coffee, tea, juice, milk, fruit, eggs, porridge and müssli + blueberry soup, but if you want bread, salami, cheese, etc. bring your own). Located in a nice residental neighbourhood about 10 minutes from the centre of Kuopio by car.
