Nice location, elevated position so nice views from your window. Very nice and helpful staff, allowed us to store our bikes in an unused room at the back of the hotel. Good breakfast.

A sumptuous hotel. Rabbit warrens and stairs all over. Room was comfy and quiet. Quite pricey but guess that’s the location. Fabulous food and informal staff

This is an amazing little B&B with fantastic hosts where nothing is to much trouble. The breakfast was first rate, absolutely fantastic. Great room, lovely facilities, spotlessly clean and the shower was hot and nice and big. I do not have anything but praise for the place and would highly recommend.

A walk around the town of Rye is a must to see all the old buildings and shops.
There are quite a number of restaurants in Rye to choose from. Some of the 'owners' or managers need a course in customer service....Called into one to check his menu and when we said we were just looking he was not so helpful after we said we are just looking for a place for tonight....
However, we stopped into a small cafe for lunch and had great potato soup, which was excellent on a cold day.

A perfect weekend spot.
A perfect weekend spot. There’s lots to see, but it’s manageable in a weekend, with plenty of time built in to enjoy the culinary delights on offer - there are some very good restaurants and cafes. Rye is very hilly and there are lots of flint, cobbled streets, so those with reduced and/or limited mobility may find it challenging to get around. Many of the buildings are listed and so not always the most accessible - don’t let this put you off, but just be aware.

Rye is built on a hill so naturally has steep paths and many steps. However the local council try their best to discourage more elderly visitors by having closed most public toilets and arranging car parking so that visitors staying overnight have to be up early in the morning to get to the car parks at the bottom of the hill by 8.00am or risk a substantial fine. In view of this we would avoid staying overnight in the town in future

We go to Rye a couple of times a year, we either stay at the Mermaid Inn, if they have an offer on. Or The Kings Head. We really like the Kings Head as it is really good value for money & staff are always most polite & friendly. We particularly like Rye for its Character & charm. It is always bustling.
A place for a perfect little break.

A charming town with a bustling vibe, full of independent shops. The restaurants are many and varied. There was plenty to do, even in January, though some attractions, such as the visitor centre was closed (tho online it said it was open). The church and castle are lovely. The church tower has spectacular views all round. Loved it, even in the snow! We were surprised to find a 3 screen cinema, showing films throughout the day and evening - a delight in the bitter cold.
The hotel is conveniently placed right in the heart of Rye. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and provided everything you need for an overnight stay. Breakfast was included and was anything from the cafe menu. We each chose a different dish and both were exceptional with local ingredients expertly cooked. Would we stay again? Yes in a heartbeat! Thank you to the staff for making our stay faultless.
The hotel is a lovely small place with only a few rooms. The rooms are each unique and beautifully decorated with a really comfortable bed. breakfast is included at the tea downstairs and it is amazing. lots of unique options for food and coffees and juice included. The staff is all super friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again and will highly recommend it to friends.
The hotel is in an excellent location - lovely views and easy stroll to Rye centre. Only downside is that there is no hotel car park. I managed to park nearby in a side street for a reasonable price.
Included breakfast was excellent - nice to see cheese and fantastic ham in addition to the traditional cooked offerings.
We had a top floor corner room with great views over the town.
Comfy beds and pillows. Right on edge of town. Very easy for walking. Many restaurants and pubs. Parking available. Hotel told us to pop into reception before parking. We pulled up on cobbles outside entrance as instructed and unloaded. Saves carrying luggage up extra flight of stairs from parking lot. We were upgraded because there were rooms. Room was spacious.
This is a beautiful pub/restaurant/hotel, steeped in history. Well kept, very clean and an ideal location for exploring the historic town of Rye. The room we had was well equipped with all the expected amenities but a little bit on the small side especially for longer stays. The staff were polite and attentive to our needs. Would definitely stay again.
Being vey close to the centre of Rye the Hotel was a perfect position for wandering the shops and lanes of beautiful old houses. The hotel is old and a little quirky but beautiful inside and very well decorated. Breakfast had a good selection of food, and the staff were exceptionally helpful.
Lovely historic building with endless character. The staff were extremely nice. The complimentary breakfast was lovely and they made a point to give our puppy his own which was adorable. The lounges downstairs are wonderful. Oh, and this is the best located hotel in Rye.
Very good food, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Historic Grade 2 Listed Property with all the character in a great location and within easy walking distance to the historic Rye town centre. Very attractive period properties adjacent to the hotel.
Really characterful hotel, cosy room and a comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast and helpful staff. Beautiful and convenient location for exploring Rye. The big fire in the bar area is lovely and the ghosts were all very welcoming!
Lovely little cottage in the center of Rye. as pictured, modern, very clean, lovely decor and feels brand new. Location is perfect, next to train station and over night car park and a few minutes walk into Rye.
The amazing history of the hotel and how enthusiastic the staff was to share it with us. The manager Elizabeth was did absolutely all she could to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. She was a delight!
Very well located hotel with parking just a short walk into the town centre. The Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is about a mile away.
Comfortable room with river view, good space.
Very spacious, comfortable property. Large outdoor areas, great for bbq. Some good pubs nearby, especially the Horse and Cart. Convenient for Rye, Hastings, lots to see and do,
