The room was big and probably one of the best decorated hotels I have been to.
Lancaster
Set in Lancaster, 7.4 km from Trough of Bowland, The Stork Hotel offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. This 3-star inn offers free WiFi. The inn features family rooms. The property has been sympathetically renovated after a fire in 2020. it still has a wonderful pub ‘feel’ but the rooms are tasteful and (without exaggerating) one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. I could not see a cobweb or mark anywhere. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was wonderfully appointed for the price with a nespresso machine and a great range of tea and coffee. Again, I’ve stayed in more expensive properties that don’t have this.

Ideally located in the centre of Manchester, BrewDog DogHouse Manchester offers air-conditioned rooms, free bikes, free WiFi and a garden. This 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. The accommodation provides evening entertainment and a concierge service. Being an Equity Punk member for almost 5 years, a stay at the Doghouse was definitely on my bucket list ever since I heard of its existence. So when my boyfriend and I booked tickets to a concert in Manchester a few days before my birthday, I knew exactly where I wanted to stay. Not only did the hotel and room exceeded our expectations, they also left a small gift and note for my birthday which I really appreciated. I especially loved all the small details in the room and around the hotel. Left most of them out of the pictures I added here, so you can find out yourself. But of course the shower beer and record player didn't disappoint. And the bed was one of the best beds we ever slept in! The room also has a BrewDog minibar with a great variety of beverages (both alcoholic as non-alcoholic) and also a great choice of snacks. In the room you will find a sort of pamphlet with all the drinks, snacks and BrewDog gadgets on it and how much they cost. So that you will not be faced with any surprises. Also great location! Little more than 10 minutes walk to Piccadilly Station, which will take you directly to the airport. And close to a lot of sights and activities in the city. Definitely want to stay here again! And want to try their location in Edinburgh as well!
Bodmin

With free WiFi, this 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. Guests can make use of a bar. The decision to stay for the night in this converted prison was born out of curiosity. The initial drive into the parking area of the hotel was awfully depressing. Huge tall vertical walls and a massive block like building with tiny windows that box you in. Having parked you take a second look and see a modern tower of glass and smooth contemporary architecture that forms an inviting entrance in the middle of the granite structure. After entering the inner sanctuary via a tunnel through the thick outer wall of the prison block you are greeted by a simple reception pult that whilst mirroring the austerity of the main prison is actually the domicile of a friendly receptionist. She (or he) is happy to give you a smile and listen to your jokes about not having being there for a while and not wanting to stay too long. Nowadays though the reception staff hand out personal magnetic cards instead of accompanying you to your room with a key. There are three floors with rows of cells facing each other on each side of a long central gallery. A glass roof and metal staircases at each end of the block complete the first impression. In former days the architecture was simple but the new architects have done a wonderful job with the conversion. External elevators now connect the floors, discrete openings provide easy access to the restaurants and other public areas. Each hotel room is formed by connecting three cells internally to provide bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. The architects have managed to combine modern elements with colour and soft surfaces to provide a feeling of luxury and warmth whilst at the same time retaining a presence of the severity and spartanism that once dominated. A true work of art, we enjoyed our stay, the restaurant, breakfast in the old chapel and a guided tour of the older non-converted part of the prison provided a highlight to our holiday. Die Entscheidung, in diesem umgebauten Gefängnis zu übernachten, entstand aus Neugier.

This charming hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Folkestone harbour, making it an ideal choice for those seeking seaside adventures. The hotel is pet-friendly, with an additional supplement of £20 for furry companions. While guests can enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel's bar downstairs, it's unfortunate that dogs are not permitted in that area
Friendly and welcoming, in a very handy location for Barnard Castle. Very pet friendly too, even providing a bed, feeding mat, bowl & some treats for our dog (there was a small charge for having him with us). Great breakfast included in our family room rate, which made it really good value.
Perfect location for visiting Hampton Court/ Kingston upon Thames/ arriving by train. Staff super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nice little touches in room to make your stay special. Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Able to bring my dog although be aware not all rooms are pet friendly so check with hotel before booking .
The staff are pleasant professional and helpful. Pet friendly but large enough public areas so as not to intrude on impose on others who may not like dogs. Located next to the river so great for walking into the town or for dog walking ( lit on an evening)
Travelling with our dogs, very pet-friendly! Nice dog beds supplied, with treats. Great location, short walk to centre of Harrogate. Lovely breakfast menu, plenty to choose from. Would definitely book again.
Good location, friendly staff and delicious breakfast. We stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms and they provided a water bowl and dog treats. We would happily stay again.
Great location for visiting the university. Dog friendly - even had a dog bed and water bowl in the room
We stayed in the Pet-Friendly section, as a halfway stop to Scotland. The room was small but comfortable, and there was not enough place for a big dog bed, but we managed to get our cocker spaniel comfortable. The grounds are lovely and the was enough space, once passed the red squirrel viewing area, to let the dog run off lead in the fields. The location is lovely.
Whereas some hotels are "pets allowed" this hotel was definitely "pet friendly" (in this case dog friendly); Mya was treated like a guest, even to the welcome biscuits, bed and dog bowls. I arrived just after 8.15 when service ends but was able to order a light supper in the bar, the dog sitting under the table as I don't like to leave her in the room on her own. I was told that if she needed to go out in the middle of the night, there was a night porter, which was very reassuring though on this occasion not needed.
Plus: Amazing location to the Fistral Beach. You can’t get any closer than this. Friendly staff who goes all the way to make you feel comfortable. A decent restaurant with good food although the breakfast menu has limited choices. Facilities for small children - pool table, small swimming pool , small tennis court, live music on some days Surf school right at the hotel, very convenient Dog friendly hotel with dog beds, water bowl, dog grooming kit
